Tracing its heritage to 1933 when renowned patriotic industrialist Huang Sichan established Wenzhou Normal School and reinforced by Su Buqing (father of Chinese differential geometry), WZU was consolidated with Wenzhou Normal College in 2006, serving as the cultural and technological hub of southern Zhejiang.
