Shenyang Ligong University (SYLU, 沈阳理工大学) was established in 1948 as Northeast Military Industry Specialized School under the Northeast Military Commission, standing as the first undergraduate ordnance academy founded by the People's Liberation Army in Northeast China. As one of the celebrated "Seven Sons of Ordnance" (兵工七子), it is co-constructed by the Liaoning Provincial Government, SASTIND, Norinco Group, and CSGC.
Covering 1.13 million square meters along the Hunhe River in Shenyang, SYLU maintains signature leadership in Weaponry Science & Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Processing, and Information Security. Engineering and Materials Science rank in the global top 1% of ESI. It hosts national defense key laboratories in energetic materials, ballistics testing, and intelligent sensing weaponry.
