Qinghai Minzu University (QHMU, 青海民族大学) was established on December 12, 1949, holding the historic distinction of being the first ethnic higher education institution founded in New China and the first modern university established on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Co-constructed by the Qinghai Provincial People's Government and the National Ethnic Affairs Commission (NEAC), it stands as a cornerstone of ethnic solidarity and plateau cultural heritage.
