Heilongjiang University (HLJU, 黑龙江大学) was founded in 1941 in Yan'an as the Russian Language Brigade of the Anti-Japanese Military and Political University. Relocating to Harbin in 1946, HLJU is co-constructed by the Ministry of Education, the State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense (SASTIND), and the Heilongjiang Provincial Government, universally recognized as China's #1 institution for Russian Philology.
Spanning 1.81 million square meters in Harbin, HLJU’s Russian Language & Literature holds an unrivaled A+ grade in nationwide assessments and is designated as a national Double First-Class discipline.
